Multishot is a stat describing the number of projectiles (bullets, pellets, bolts, missiles, etc.) fired simultaneously per unit of ammo. Not only will this increase the weapon's damage, but each projectile has an independent chance to proc Status Effects and/or result in a Critical Hit .

Multishot exists to help amplify your damage. +100% damage is 200% damage. Add +100% multishot on top and you're doing +400%. They compound each other. You should aim to get both percentages as high as possible, in about an equal balance. Multishot could be better for status, but the calculations just turn into a headache.
