On alto I play a Durga 5 in a 7 (0.081") tip opening and on Tenor I play a JodyJazz DV 7 (0.100"). Without reed shaving a box of 10 reeds can easily yield only 2-3 readily playable reeds. We all know that reeds cost an awful lot.May 7, 2023 · The Supreme comes in seven different finishes. This means that, in the hypothetical two-model system, it wouldn't be possible to buy, say, a new silver-plated Selmer horn without springing for a Supreme. For a tenor, that would mean close to $12k. I think Selmer would want to avoid such a costly constriction of choice.

Some leatherligs have plastic pressure plates and that will make the sound darker (for example BG Standard) and some have metal that makes the sound a little brighter for ...
