Personally I feel the first archetype should be free from the restrictions and then every other archetype follows the rules. The reason is as a player there are a lot of characters at level 2 I don't even want a level 1/2 class feats and would rather pick an archetype instead, with free archetype I would have to choose a feat I don't really want.
