There is nothing wrong with using synthetics as long as you use the type appropriate for bikes. Even Honda makes a synthetic so your mechanic is full of it except for the moly additive part. Amsoil and Royal Purple make good synthetics. Many people use Mobil 1 red cap. Some use Rotella T.
I will find an outlet for this oil that sells for a reasonable price before the next oil change for sure.
